Biography

Bill Greenough was both an outstanding athlete and an outstanding man.An all-round performer, he excelled in intercollegiate soccer, twice winning most valuable player honours. But his greatest accomplishments were in track and field where he competed at the provincial, national and international levels. His achievements include provincial records, which still stand in the high jump, the long jump, and the triple jump; and eight place finish in the triple jump at the 1967 World Student games in Tokyo; and the 1968 national championships in the long jump, and in the triple jump, which saw him equal the Canadian Record. Still and active competitor at the time of his tragic death, Dr. William Greenough was very much dedicated to the service of both young athletes and his fellowman.
