New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame: Community Sport Award Nomination Form

Objective

The goal of the Community Sport Award is to increase community engagement in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame (NBSHF) and the NBSHF Induction Gala. Our NBSHF Induction Gala strives to be the premier Sports Celebration Event for our province annually. Although we will continue to honour the elected Hall of Famers as we have been doing, starting in 2024 we added this award in effort to further connect with the local host community.

What is the award?

The award will celebrate a deserving grassroots community sport volunteer from the greater community where the induction event is being held. The recipient will be awarded with the Community Sport Award during the Induction Gala, as well as will be asked to identify a minor sport club, team, or association to be the recipient of a $500 gift from the NBSHF. The gift will also be awarded at the Induction Gala.

Who is eligible?

Potential recipients must be unpaid volunteers in their local communities who have contributed to the growth of minor sports. Candidates could be coaches, organizers, or other volunteers. Should be a living individual and NBSHF Hall of Famers are not eligible.
