Biography

For some forty years, the sport of golf and the life of Baker Brook’s Jean Dickson have been intimately and productively intertwined. What began as a recreational pursuit soon blossomed into a vocation that saw her hold almost every executive position from member to president of the New Brunswick Branch of the Canadian Ladies Golf Association between 1963 and 1987. In 1971, she took her place on the Canadian Association Executive, ascending to the position of president in 1978.In that capacity she represented Canada at world councils and championships; and as vice president of the Ladies Golf Union of Great Britain. She is a former president of the New Brunswick Ladies Curling Association and an honoured member of the Sports Hall of Fame in her adopted city of Edmundston. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 3rd, 1995.
