Biography
Ron Hooper of Petitcodiac has spent more than 50 years as a coach, administrator and official. His dedication to basketball and other sports has had a profound impact on his community and the province. His many accomplishments include coaching the Petitcodiac Panthers High School basketball team to more than 1,400 wins and 10 provincial championships. He also guided the Petitcodiac men’s basketball teams to provincial and Maritime titles. Hooper has coached provincial title-winners in basketball, soccer, cross-country, golf and athletics. His contributions to basketball and his admirable coaching record have earned him the distinction of a street, gymnasium, and provincial basketball trophy named in his honour. Inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 8, 2013
