Nick Thibodeau was one of those all too rare individuals who was fortunate enough to be able to spend all of his very productive life in the city in which he was born - and in this instance the city was Bathurst, and the period of time was 74 years. He was a rifle competitor of note and was once selected to the Bisley team. But curling was his game, his first love and his lifelong reason for being. He was a member of the Bathurst Curling Club for 50 years, won more than 500 awards and skipped in more McLellan Cup Games than any other Maritimer before or since! His rink was successful in winning the New Brunswick Provincial Championship in 1931, 1932, 1935, 1940 and 1951, and in each of these years he represented his province in the Canadian finals. He has left a legacy of dedication and self-sacrifice that to this day helps to nurture the development of "The Roaring Game" in New Brunswick. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 2nd 1973.
