Like many young female hockey players, Salisbury's Stacy Wilson began her career playing minor hockey with the boys. In due course she moved on to women's intercollegiate hockey at Acadia University.Following graduation she became a member of the Moncton's Blades where she competed nationally for some ten years. Success after success followed at Pacific Rim and Three Nations Cup championships, but none greater than the four World Championships she and her national team-mates won in 1990, '92, '94 and '97.In 1998 she captained Canada's silver medal team at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.A year later she joined the coaching staff at the University of Minnesota Duluth where in a span of five years, the Bulldogs won three consecutive National Collegiate Athletic Association championships. Despite those original pink uniforms, hers was a golden career — with an occasional touch of silver and bronze. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 9, 2007.
