Biography

It has been (so far!) a 36-year trip from her first visit to the Bathurst figure skating club with her pre-school aged son, to the presidency of the Canadian Figure Skating Association, (now known as Skate Canada), and to the International Skating Union Congress as a voting delegate. We say "so far" because who knows what skating worlds remain to be conquered by this dynamic, selfless, extremely competent and inspirational volunteer par excellence? From sewing costumes to advancing the development of new scoring systems, from assisting with Canada Games and Olympic Games to chairing the Skate Canada Athlete Trust, she, in the words of Canadian champion Jennifer Robinson, "proved time and again that she loves to help young athletes reach their dreams." Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 5th, 2004.
