Biography
One of New Brunswick’s greatest all-round athletes, the late Peter Murray of Saint John excelled in five sports that took him to several national competitions during his stellar career.As a teenager, he had a Major League Baseball tryout, but returned to play for the Saint John St. Peter’s team that won the Maritime Baseball Championships. Before he was 22, he was a player-coach and had won a provincial senior league batting title.He was a member of the New Brunswick Canada Games baseball team; played at three national men’s softball events; competed at the Canadian Legion track and field championships; a Canadian juvenile basketball tournament and skipped rinks to one Brier and to two national mixed curling appearances.
