Biography

Dr. Paula Keating of Miramichi is the first New Brunswick female to ever break the three-hour time barrier in a marathon and has set numerous provincial records as a runner.Although she only began her running career at 39 years of age, she quickly established herself by winning the female category in almost every race she entered for over a decade.Keating’s crowning achievement was winning first female overall at the Detroit Marathon in 2010 and setting a NB record time of 2:52:14. At time of induction, she has won the Rock 'n Run nine times in her hometown of Miramichi and was named Female Runner of the Year by Run NB for five consecutive years.Keating is an inducted member of the Run NB Hall of Fame and the Miramichi Sports Wall of Fame. Enrolled into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame May 27, 2017.
