Biography
Sylvio Bourque of Grande-Digue is Canada’s all-time most decorated armwrestler at the WAF World Championships. He won his first local competition in 1978, and by the following year he was already representing Canada at the World Championships. He had a career spanning more than 40 years and was still active at the time of his death. He successfully organized two Canadian Championships in New Brunswick. Passionate about running, he created the Grande-Digue 15 km race, which he presided over for the first 10 years. Sylvio will always be remembered as an outstanding athlete and organizer.
