Biography

This citation could have taken the form of a typical biographical sketch - born in 1930 in Midgic, N.B. boxing coach, Boys’ Club leader, Junior Olympic Chairman, Coach of the Year at the 1968 New England Golden Gloves… but such cold facts as these do not in any way give a view of the soul and spirit of this man. Bob Edgett was and is a superb boxing coach - just drop by the Boys’ Clubs in Sackville and Dorchester that bear his name and you will soon be convinced of that! But he was and is, first and foremost, a Builder of Boxing, of boys, of character, of international relations, and a provider of hope for men in prison and of opportunities for those who have had the good fortune to come under his guidance. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 4th, 1977
