Biographie
Robert Brown of Woodstock is only the ninth “builder” to be enrolled in the provincial Sports Hall of Fame. All who have played and competed readily acknowledge that, without the builders, sport as we know and enjoy it would not exist. The people of Carleton County know that to be true – for no nomination to this shrine has received such a county-wide outpouring of unreserved support. His Woodstock High School “Red Raiders” were THE dominant force in provincial play during his lengthy tenure as coach. In 1945 and 1947, he led his team to Maritime Juvenile titles, and in 1946, to the Juvenile Championship of the Dominion of Canada. The true measure of his influence and success can best be found in the hearts and minds of those who were lucky enough to call him “Coach.” Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, May 30th, 1981.
