Biographie

Eddie Wiseman joined a long list of New Brunswickers whose hockey-playing talents earned for them a berth in the exclusive National Hockey League of the 1930’s and 40’s. A native of Newcastle, he moved to Western Canada, the spawning grounds of so many major league stars, and was a member of the Memorial Cup-Champion Regina Pats in 1930. He graduated to the ranks of the N.H.L. in 1932-33 where for ten years he starred with Chicago, New York, and Boston. His career highlites include a Stanley Cup victory with the Bruins in 1940-41, and the distinction of being the leading goal scorer in the playoffs of that same year. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 8, 1974.
