Biographie

His addiction to the game of golf began in Duxbury, Massachusetts, when he was but nine years old. But it was in New Brunswick and more particularly at the Riverside Country Club that "Val" Streeter established himself as a Sports Immortal. The path from novice to expert was one of amazing success including twelve Riverside Club championships, three NB-PEI. Amateur Championships, two Maritime Amateur Championships and six Maritime Senior Championships, membership on three Canadian International teams and, in 1967, the Canadian Senior Championship for players over 70 years of age. His adopted Province owes much to this golf executive and outstanding player who has served as an inspiration to so many since his arrival in New Brunswick in 1922. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 27, 1970.
