Biographie
Like so many other Hall of Famers, Devon’s Bev Bawn was touched by the magic of York Arena and baseball Hill. His 1954 Little League statistics as a 6-0 pitcher and a .528 batter showed that here was indeed a star on the rise. He was successful in most team sports, including hockey and baseball, softball and rugby.His successes cover the gamut from local and provincial to regional and national; in hockey and baseball he was a perennial all-star and most valuable player. Despite his national championships as player and coach, he considers the 1967 Eastern Canadian hockey title as his greatest moment in sport. In an era of one-sport specialists, Bev Bawn’s star continues to shine brightly as an athlete and gentleman for all sports and all seasons. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 6th, 1992.
