Biographie
"Rocky" Stone of Moncton was a founding father of Canadian football in New Brunswick. He worked exclusively on behalf of minor-age players in Moncton; but the results of his efforts impacted on all levels of football up to and including the pros. There are more than 3,500 young men who benefited from his organizational, fund-raising and administrative efforts during the seventeen years that he gave to the sport he loved so much. He was honoured by several amateur football associations and by the Canadian Football League, and, as well, by the endowment of a scholarship and the designation of a football stadium that bear his name. "Rocky" Stone was inducted into the CFL. Hall of Fame in 1976; tonight his efforts as a builder gain him his rightful place in New Brunswick's sport shrine. Involved with the Moncton Minor Football Association from 1961-77 as coach, official, organizer and fundraiser
Helped organize the Saint John Minor Football Association in 1965
Instrumental in the formation of the NB Amateur Football Union in 1966

Received a citation from the Canadian Amateur Football Association in 1972
