Bobby Copp’s career in competitive hockey spanned slightly more than two decades.As a fifteen year old he played with the senior team in his native Port Elgin; and from there he went on to the Amherst St. Pats and the Maritime Junior Championship in 1936.Following five years of intercollegiate hockey with teams at Mount Allison University and the University of Toronto, Copp joined the Toronto Marlies for four seasons, and the Toronto Maple Leafs for one. As with many other athletes of that era, World War II interrupted his career.He returned to senior competition in 1946 to play for nine years with the Ottawa Senators, and was a member of their 1948 Allan Cup championship team. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 8th, 1974.
