Donald Ryan of Maugerville has made major contributions to wrestling as an athlete, coach, and administrator at the provincial, national, and international levels. A former UNB athlete, he coached the program for over 30 years and was named AUAA Coach of the Year 1 times. He served 10 years as president of Wrestling Canada and 20 years on its board, as well as on the United World Wrestling bureau. In 2015, he received the FILA Gold Star, the sport’s highest honour.
