Biographie
Les Aigles Bleus of l'Universite de Moncton won two national intercollegiate championships in a row in dramatic fashion, with nine seconds to go in Calgary in 1981 and thirty-three seconds left to play in Moncton in 1982. They were the first team from a Maritime-based university to win the national title. These two teams won fifty regular season games in their home conference; and defeated Dalhousie one year and Prince Edward Island the next to garner the Atlantic title and qualify for nationals. In both years they played off against Dave King's University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Coach Jean Perron was responsible for resurrecting and consolidating the hockey program at U de M, a continuing source of institutional pride and prestige. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 5th, 2004.
