MEMBRE HONORÉ

Biographie

World champions in many sports, including curling, are crowned each year. The winners return home to a few weeks of receptions, presentations, applause, adulation. Then a year passes; another world champion is identified; and another short round of tributes ensues while the accomplishments of the previous champions are relegated to the record books. The Capital Winter Club Junior Men’s rink of skip Jim Sullivan, third Charlie Sullivan, second Craig Burgess and lead Dan Alderman, were, in 1987, the best in their club, their province and their country. In 1988, as representatives of Canada, these four university students proved themselves to be the best Junior Men’s curlers in the whole wide world! That is a golden achievement that must never be allowed to tarnish. For, in their year of years, they were quite simply second to none; they were champions of the world. Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 4, 1994.
